Moody or Not

Sorry for not that many updates recently, Wednesday was my birthday and family was priority. :D

There probably will be a widget update for next week, I'm intending to make the interface more prettier and interesting. Oh, and I will soon add stats by region.

For some reason, the apple widget is still retrieving data from the old server, considering that the web browser retrieves data from the new server

There seem to be some sort of dns cache issue with dashboard widgets, which makes them update really slow.

Anyway, votes are still taken even though they go to the old server, they will be added afterwards once the widget caches correctly

Just want to let you guys know that I switched Moodyornot.com from a simple web hosting to a virtual dedicated server.

This will allow to do a lot more, as the mySQL tasks are getting more complicated

We reached 5788 votes yesterday, got to say that I'm quite impressed

Oh, and it's funny to see how people REALLY hate Mondays ;)

It's done, the new site design is up.

As you can see, there are more stats now and the main world mood is now compared to an all time mood. All time moods are all the mood votes collected since day one, I think this is a more interesting pattern to compare to.

Rather than just having yesterday stats, I added week stats too.

I'm getting lots of mails from people asking me for more stats and records of moods for the site. These are all ideas I'm intending to add to the site soon. I hope that for the weekend I'll be able to finish the redesigned site with more stats and records about the worlds mood.

We are getting more and more votes everyday. On friday we got more than 4000 votes, cool :D.

Anyway, I noticed in the stats that the difference in mood percentage between today and yesterday is always quite low, interesting. That's why I decied to change a bit how the worlds face is shown. The world will show happy or sad depending on yesterdays votes. Next week the site will get a mayor lift up, with lots of more stats, so stay tuned.

Oh, and one more thing, I'm almost done with the widget update ... voting from the widget will be avaible in version 1.1 :)

What a weekend. I've been working, mostly researching on how to expand the site. As you may see, you're now able to vote several times a day, and you're now able to choose from 4 mood states rather than just 2. I'm mainly doing this because I'm about to release a facebook integration of the site, and the limited voting posibilities would have been a problem (you'll soon see).

How the voting system works now: Every vote is now accepted per IP address (no more cookies). This means that if you voted in your office, your work mate probably won't be able to vote until the 2 hours grace time has passed. Every vote update during the day are grouped together forming a mood percentage based on the avarage of all your votes. I hope I was clear enough, if not, don't worry, this should only do the results more interesting.

By the way, I haven't forgot about the Apple Widget. It will be updated soon.
